C-steels

C-steel (also known as carbon steel) is a low-alloy or non-alloyed quality steel that contains carbon (C) as an additional component to iron. Depending on its composition and material quality, carbon steel is mainly used in the manufacture of tools as well as in the construction of machines and vehicles.

C-steel is extremely robust and dimensionally stable, but can also be easily shaped. Depending on the material combination and quenching and tempering, C steels are designed for light to high loads. Targeted alloying with elements such as silicon, manganese, chromium, molybdenum or vanadium, as well as appropriate heat treatment, can achieve the desired strength and toughness of the quality steel for the intended application. Because carbon steel or quality steel is not stainless, the material must be protected against corrosion by applying an appropriate coating.

Wilhelm Jungermann GmbH supplies drawn quality steel in rods and coils in various designs, shapes and dimensions.
